JFS Tutoring Assistance Information and Qualifications

  • This program is intended to serve Jewish families in metro-Detroit
  • Families must be unable to pay for tutoring on their own and qualify based on the Federal Poverty Level (350% and below  https://home.mycoverageplan.com/fpl.html)
  • Children must be school age (Kindergarten-12th grade)
  • Families are expected to have their own transportation to and from tutoring sessions
  • Qualifying children can receive up to 24 tutoring sessions
  • Tutoring is provided through Sylvan Learning Center in West Bloomfield (5829 W Maple Rd #127, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48322)
  • If requesting tutoring for multiple children in the same household, please complete one application per child
